Here are some answers to my followers’ questions that I’ve gotten over the past 6 months. It’s been such a whirlwind of time and I can’t believe that imbabydinosaur is almost here. Read on for a fun and personal Pregnancy Q&A .

FYI, the questions are adopted from my followers.


What was the process like for you getting pregnant? How long have you been trying?

Answer: We love travelling, one of the things we really wanted to do before becoming parents was plan one last big trip. We chose Hokkaido and we went during our wedding anniversary in 2017, and it would be the perfect time to start trying.

Having irregular periods , I started practicing healthy lifestyle like enrolling myself in flyyoga at Dreams Dance Studio. I also started taking folic acid since November 2017, it took us 9 months to find out I had actually been pregnant.

Question: How did you tell your husband you were pregnant?

Answer: I went into the room and showed him the pregnancy test. I was very nervous and shocked when I saw the two lines but he was very calm and told me to visit the doctor to confirm the pregnancy.

Question: Congrats, how many months your baby now?

Answer: Thank you, my baby is 29 weeks now, and it is as big as a head of cauliflower.

Question: Congratulations..what do you hope for? Boy or girl?

Answer: To be honest, I hope for a boy when I found out I was pregnant. I have always said I wanted a boy so that I don’t have to go through the pregnancy journey again (very Chinese-minded because boy carries the family surname).

Question: How do you feel?

Answer: I felt fatigue and emotional during the first trimester, especially the morning sickness. I slept at 8pm every night. It has got better during the second trimester, I felt happy , relax and easy , I even back to exercise ! For now, the honeymoon period is over and I start to have insomnia, getting hungry every hour again and the backache and serious water retention. I would love to recommend the prenatal massage by Eve at Eight, it really helps !

My life took an unexpected turn six months ago when I found out I was pregnant. Fast-forward six months later, I have just a few weeks to go until this baby pops and my head is spinning, trying so hard to wrap my head around the idea of this little person who dear hubby and I will be responsible for. Since hitting the 25-week , I’m a regular at @eveat8 . I make it a point to have once a fortnight for the Prenatal Massage and it leaves me relaxed, refreshed and happy. Completed my 15000 step goal for the day in Bangkok without suffering from puffy ankles and swollen feet. I have actually loved being pregnant regardless all the challenges. It’s been such an incredible experience and I am thankful that I don’t have to go through a lot. It is still manageable now even though I’ve gotten bigger. I really attribute that to my prenatal yoga classes at B Studios -Bumps Bubs & Burpees , I went between 2 and 3 times a month since second trimester and that’s been really helpful in keeping my body loose and limber. Hopefully it will serve me well during labor too !

Pregnancy fatigue is so not a myth , just the thought of intense prenatal exercise may make you want to hide under the covers. In fact , more than half women gain more weight during pregnancy than they should , turns out, the exercisers were 40% less likely to gain too much weight and less likely to have babies with macrosomia than those who didn’t . Actually, reaping the rewards of exercise during pregnancy takes surprisingly little effort. Question: is it a boy or a girl?

Answer: I will reveal the gender soon during the baby shower, so stay tuned !

Question: Have you decided the name yet?

Answer: Not yet. It’s hard to decide.

Question: what is the challenge for your first pregnancy?

Answer: Plenty. I get hungry every hour, I have serious backache and water retention, some crazy breakouts on my back, I can’t stand too long (but it’s the nature of my job) and I can’t carry heavy stuffs (how to avoid this when I am Furniture Design lecturer). However, the most challenging one so far is the Gestational Diabetes.

About 3 weeks ago, I was diagnosed with #gestationaldiabetes. Gestational Diabetes generally increase the risk of preclampsia, depression, and requiring a #carsareansection 😨. For now, I am visiting my gynaecologist twice a week and having my blood sugar tested 5-6 times a day (twice a week)πŸ˜–πŸ’‰. Prevention is by maintaining a healthy weight and exercise before pregnancy. Eversince then, I have been trying to avoid carbohydrates & sugary drinks (no more milk tea for meπŸ˜”). Being active is a good way to help manage the blood sugar therefore I aim for at least 30 – 60 minutes of low-impact, moderate activity like brisk walking or Pre Postnatal Pilates @bstudiosfitness (watch my Preggo Diary IG Stories for the workout session) . It probably is not a surprise that I get a lot of questions about pregnancy safe skincare and makeup. I’m not going to list pregnancy safe makeup products here because I’m not really particular in this. I want to point out that makeup is very different than skincare. Your skin’s primary job is to act as a barrier to the outside world. This is something that skincare companies need to formulate products to act against, and even then penetrating and getting active ingredients down into your skin can be difficult. Makeup is not formulated to be absorbed, it actually needs to do the exact opposite, it needs to stay on the surface of your skin and last all day being pretty. Keep that in mind when you’re concerned about your makeup. Don’t worry about: Eyeliner (it’s mostly wax, can’t absorb), mascara (sits on your dead lashes), powder products (they sit on the surface of the skin) and this includes powder foundations, face powders, bronzers, highlighters, blushes, and eye shadows. Myself: I’m using the cosmetics and skincare I have been using for the past few years which includes those products I have reviewed before such as #shiseidomakeup from #shiseidomalaysia , #skii from #skiimy , moisturizer from #thefaceshopmalaysia , #thebalm from #sasamalaysia , #duckcosmetics and so on. I don’t really like to apply mascara so I always have my eyelashes extensions done from @eimageaesthetic . Eyelashes extensions is always my favorite because it saves my time especially this coming #chinesenewyear . Hope this helps. Question: Sorry to ask this to u : what happens if the baby is born & ur works still have a lot to do?

Answer: I definitely have to continue working as I hope to provide Baby Dinosaur a comfortable lifestyle. However, if I cannot wield by myself, I will reduce my Instagram posting because it is weighty work.

Question: Are you still working now?

Answer: Of course ! I am a workaholic. During my first trimester and second trimester, I was still doing my Ph. D. For now, I am a part time social media influencer and still teaching as a lecturer.

Question: Did you get any stretch marks?

Answer: Not yet. I have been using various types of stretch mark cream and lotion since week5 and my friend told me to keep using them after, as my stomach shrinks down. However, the nurses told me it could be genetics, which demotivated me for a few minutes, but I do think keeping my stomach oiled has helped prevent stretch marks.

Question: Which prenatal vitamins did you take?

Answer: I am taking Neurogain, Obimin and Calcium. I started taking folic acid before I got pregnant. Watch my preggo diary for more details.

Question: will you share a lot of the baby on the social media? because Imbabydinosaur is a private account.

Answer: I am quite uncertain about this. For now, I would love to keep the account private to keep baby dinosaur safe.

Question: i’m very excited for baby Dino and I planned to buy a baby Dino for your baby. hahaha

Answer: Omg you are so sweet, thank you. I am excited too.
