Planning a birthday party can be both fun and stressful. Like me, I am someone who loves doing everything on my own because you can’t rely on anyone so there are some fail-safe steps to take in order to plan a fantastic birthday party that will have everyone involved and having fun. Here is the host’s to-do list to guarantee a relatively hassle-free birthday party after.
1. Choose the date.
2. Pick the venue.
3. Your guest list.
4. Set a theme.
5. Select the pastry.

9. Pick a birthday outfit ❤

Choose a date for the birthday party. The sooner you choose a date, the sooner you can get started with planning other elements of the party. It is advisable to host the party on a weekend because more people will be available on a weekend. I had mine on a beautiful Saturday afternoon ! This is most convenient for friends and families.

Pick the friendly venue. Take into consideration whether you are into small gatherings with close friends or a more elaborate party. My party is of a reasonable size , with a total of 15 pax so I chose P.S. Tokyo . First of all, I love the soft serve so much and it could be a chance for me to share the new flavor of soft serve with my beloved guests , secondly, P.S. Tokyo has a feature wall that is highly customizable to your party theme. The cafe can accommodate up to 45 people without too much issue, just in case if your guests have someone else tagging along, you have enough space for them.

Decide on a budget and guest list. Parties can easily consume a great deal of money, so it is important to come up with a budget and stick to it. Give an overall budget and break down each element of the party ( invitations, food, drink, decorations, venue) and decide how much to spend on each aspect. I chose E-card, will show you in a bit, and instead of having an event planner, I opted for a dessert bar.

I contacted French Han via FC_Dessert_Bar ‘s Instagram and told her my budget and theme. She came out with really mind-blowing cake and desserts ! All I have to tell French was the theme and color code, as simple as this : Star + cloud theme, blue, silver and gold.

French is very friendly and down-to-earth, I was shocked when one of my guests told me she is actually a Datin, who is so passionate about baking.I still couldn’t believe that all the adorable pastries were made by a Datin , it was really my pleasure.

For many birthday parties, desserts will be the most important part ! I am glad that I have chosen the right one ❤

Planning out the party details. I love themed birthday parties personally as it can be a lot of fun ! Although it will end up being more costly when you need to buy everything to match the theme. I always love the star, anything in the star shape, even the song ” fly me to the moon, and let me play among the stars” ! At last, my dream came true : my stars balloons in the hue of blue definitely enhance my party. I was lucky enough to come across Balloove , to have their balloon designer customizing blue stars to add flavors to my celebrations. You never know how hard to get a blue one , as those available are mostly silver and gold.

Say it with flowers. Of course, I couldn’t find a bouquet that represents the star Baby’s Breath is too mainstream , so I consider this the perfect one.  Dainty Hydrangeas are embellished with the pastel hues of Roses , this enchanting hand bouquet from Flying Florist.co stole the hearts of many.

Sending out invitations. Once the earlier details are decided upon, then it is time to send out invitations to the guest list. It is best to send out the invitations about 3-4 weeks in advance of the party in order to give people enough time to plan for it. I have set the blue & Silver theme for my invited guests, and I am truly grateful that all of them turned up in blue & silver . This has made the party even more successful !

Preparing the food. P.S. Tokyo is open for any catering options, this is one of the reasons P.S. Tokyo is the best place to hold a party. Giam helped me to prepare the simple lunch for my guests, and the Curry Chicken was awesome !

Getting Ready for the Party. All I need is a beautiful birthday dress, guess what I am wearing? A beautiful nude color designer cocktail dress (RM499) from Marry-merry.

Last but not least, a surprise birthday cake by a friend from Royal Dream 89 that wants to stay anonymous. Thank you for such a lovely bespoke cake with my star theme. It was amazingly cute and wonderful.

and… to my beloved guests, Thank you for making my birthday party truly amazing. A party wouldn’t be a party without you ! Love the presents from all of you and will upload a picture of them on my Instagram soon !
