Hello readers, have you tried drawing your eyebrows? Three weeks ago , I had my eyebrow touched up , and many friends and readers start asking me on my eyebrow embroidery. It seems like many girls wanted to try out eyebrow embroidery yet they are worrying about so many things.
If eyes are the windows to the soul, then brows are the window frame. Girls know , a pair of nice looking eyebrows makes you prettier because they actually enhance your face features ! Well-shaped and fuller eyebrows are an important facial feature that instantly beautifies any women. BUT, what if my eyebrow embroidery went wrong?! Let me share my experience here :
Why do I need an eyebrow embroidery ?
Eyebrow embroidery can be done on anyone but it is usually meant for people with thinning eyebrows, bald spots in their brows or people who have over-plucked. For Chinese girl like me, I am sad that I have very little body hair, like seriously. Little did you know that I was actually using hair extension to volumise my hair for the past 5 years. Same goes to my eyebrows, they are so sparse and limited, I would have to draw and fill my eyebrows in all the time. For those who over-plucked ( of course not me as I don’t even have hair to be plucked ), brow hair stops growing back so if you plucked away your shape in a desperate attempt to achieve the once-stylish super thin brows, eyebrow embroidery could be your solution.
Here you can check out my before and after , this picture was taken on the spot on my first day of embroidery.
How much is eyebrow embroidery in KL, is it safe?
As with any cosmetic procedure, eyebrow embroidery is safe just so long as you are careful about where you go. An average session can cost from MYR 400 – 1000. If you find a salon offering it for much less, ask questions to be sure it isn’t too good to be true. In order to make sure you get the best quality treatment and minimise your risk of infection, make sure your technician is qualified and certified by a reputable company. Never let them reuse the needles or blades !
If you are wondering how much is mine? Well, I have to attach this image for your reference, because they are many types of the eyebrow , it really depends on which one is your choice and what is your need. Personally, I always want to look natural, one of the reasons I refuse to go for plastic surgery because I do not want to wake up looking like a ghost without makeup or to waking up be like the angry bird who has two thick lines above the eyes.
I have chosen 丝雾眉 , the first one on the top left. Reason? It looks natural on me. I really really really do not want to have two thick lines on my face when I wake up every morning without makeup, I do not want my family members even myself to look at my face as if I only have eyebrows but nothing else. My eyes are not particularly big and round, I am a sepet Chinese, I don’t have Angelababy’s nose or Fan Bing Bing’s chin, so a pair of natural looking eyebrows will make me look better than the Korean style eyebrow. I just want mine to thickening or darkening my eyebrow and making them more apparent, that’s it.
These are some of the examples I grabbed from the social media apps. Sorry to say, I really do not like this kind of lines. I want to wake up looking natural with my plain looking face.
Oh yea, back to the price list, it depends on what you need and what you want. Mine was very affordable.
How did I feel throughout the process?
If you are following my blog, you know I am unable to tolerate pain. Hahaha , else you will definitely see Angelababy’s eyes on my face. I was so scared when Miss Yau started the embroidery process, I kept asking her : “am I bleeding? will I feel pain? can I face wash face after the embroidery? ” All kind of nonsense pop-up hahaha. The answer is , no pain at all. I swear !
The process took me about 2 hours, from cleaning up my brow line by removing strays (not many though), then , applying anaesthetic cream to reduce the sensation of pain. Thank God for the creation of anaesthetic cream ! Once the desired brows are traced, Miss Yau used a small blade (very thin and sharp) to cut small pieces on the top layer of skin away and apply the new colour in its place. She used the mixture of 3 colours in order to match with my skin tone and hair colour, the rest of the technicians are using only 2 colours. I had minor redness and minor swelling, but it disappears within a few hours, even before I reached home on that day.
Because this treatment is semi-permanent, it will require touch-ups from time to time as long as you choose to have them. In my package, it comes with one free touch-up, after 10-15 weeks interval. It is important to avoid scrubbing the brow area or picking off any scabs that may form, in order to protect the new eyebrows.

How do I make sure to get the best results?
Like I mentioned just now, pre-select a colour with my technician. Instead of 2 colours, she has 3 colours combination for me to achieve the most natural colour I wanted. Keep in mind that the colour will lighten over the next two weeks, so no matter how you have to be Angry Bird for a week or more.
Another common problem is that the brows must match the shape of the brow muscles so when they flex. The newly embroidered brow can look out of place if your technician overlooked this. Make a funny face and flex those muscle around to see if you are happy with the positioning before the procedure is done, better to be safe than sorry. Find a qualified technician, this is not likely to be the case.
Get advised from a qualified technician, I told Miss Yau that I wish for a pair of eyebrows that beautify my plain looking face even if I go without makeup. And my wish was granted , thank you so much, Miss Yau. 丝雾眉 creates an illusion of strokes of hair onto the skin at my eyebrow region that making it look very natural. They resemble real hair ! Do not follow the current trend of eyebrow shape blindly. The Korean make eyebrow is thick and flat with little angle, however, it is more suitable for oval and long shapes faces than round ones. So, consult your eyebrow technician for a suitable shape that suits your face features.
Well, I have officially survived eyebrow embroidery and now I have a pair of beautiful brows ! I love them so much ❤
If you love my eyebrows like how I do, you may have Miss Yau’s Facebook and Instagram as you wish. If you want to know more about my first eyebrow embroidery experience, you may leave a message here.
I hope my two cents help !
