I have to say, the Malaysian Afternoon Tea Stand is vastly overrated. For RM 108 nett per set, we paid through the nose. Maybe I was just a little overwhelmed by the high tea at Lounge on the Park , where the atmosphere is rarefied, with their floor to ceiling glass windows and plush sofas scattered with cushions showcases a seductive mix of Chinese heritage and classic style.
We were supposed to try their signature English afternoon tea, which I believe that would be a better high tea stand with their homemade scones, sandwiches, and pastries. Unfortunately, they only serve the Malaysian Afternoon Tea Stand today.
We have no other choice but to opt for this. They are offering this set from 1st of April – end of May, from 2:30pm to 6:00pm.
So, what are on the tray ?
the top layer (from the left) : Papaya & cashew nuts scones, plain scones with clotted cream, pomelo marmalade, and kaya jam, mysorepek, coconut pandan tiramisu, lapis leyek dan teh tarik cake, Roasted Sarawak pineaple tart
the second layer (from the left) : traditional Malay chicken satay with peanut sauce, roti john sandwich, Prawn sambal with young papaya salad, chicken rendang with egg cream , Beef floss with scrambled egg,
the last layer (from the left) : Durian mochi, kuih onde-onde, ketayak kelapa bersamo pisang
nothing to shout about, it was just so-so. =.=!!
No doubt, their sofas are really comfortable, so we paid for the plush sofas, glass windows, and the oversized hanging lights ! hahaha… worth it !
Oh yea, try to get rid of the window seats ( which is where we were seated ) because their air conditioning wasn’t really cooling. In fact, we were sweating non-stop !
